Meet Patrick, a true master of artificial light.
Founder of The Apollo Workshop, Patrick is world renown for his mastery of artificial light and film photography. Adding light to digital work is one thing, to film? Thats another ballgame completely! All the more reason to trust that he knows exactly what he is talking about. We are thrilled to have him join us for this amazing Glowup as an introduction to Get Lit, a comprehensive artificial lighting course for digital and film photographers alike.
It feels like a lot to learn because it is. That's why starting with this Glowup (a mini course) is the best place to start. Let's get obsessed with light together, learn the how and why. Become experts at nuance and master the principles that can lead you to be a master too!

Do you know what to do when you no longer have natural light to rely on?
Maybe you're a "natural light photographer" who panics when the weather doesn't go your way, or you've been known to say things like "I hate the look of flash" or "flash isn't on-brand for me."
But what if you could have a seamless aesthetic between your natural light and artificial light images?
Become a master of controlling your light.
Whether you're a wedding photographer or a family photographer, you shoot film or you shoot digital, you need to know how to use flash to your advantage and control it. No more relying on the weather and what the sun decides to give you!
We can’t wait to teach you how to effectively incorporate artificial lighting into your work so you never have to fear your flash again!

REGISTER NOWWHAT IS A GLOWUP?
Glowups are mini classes that Develope Academy hosts once a month. We figured, instead of teaching with big, grand gestures and catch-all courses for everything, maybe some topics needed a little more nuance. Consider a Glowup to be your first, second, and third date with whatever topic we are covering. We find that these bite-sized education opportunities help our students to learn more efficiently, more quickly, and with more intention. You can expect each day of education to last 1-2 hours and to have fun while you learn!
WITH GUEST EDUCATOR
Patrick Le
Patrick is a professional film photographer who specializes in weddings, family, and editorial photography in Southern California and the owner of Apollo Workshops. Inspired by old Hollywood lights and the silver screen, Patrick felt an urge to connect the emotive evening imagery of familial union to the glamour and romance of mid-century aesthetics and celebrity culture. This lead to the development of his signature style and use of artificial lighting with flash—something not many have dared to attempt in this modern age.
He designed his in-person education experience, Apollo Workshops, to not only help his students understand how to shoot without natural light but to also help creative photography minds tap into the why of the diversity of film, even though the answer may sometimes result in the unorthodox road less traveled, but bringing them closer to the fulfillment of their personal process. His hope is that his students' experience with the Apollo Workshops exceeds their expectations and opens new doors, no matter the direction of photography they take.

We are relatable while maintaining the fact that we are successful businesswomen in our industry.
Join us for Charla's world-renowned, film-shooting as she slams you with facts and rap rhymes while changing your life. Jennefer will be backing her up with her Kindred Preset prowess and inspiring ability to make everyone understand their individual importance.
