We all want to feel creative, validated, unique, inspired, and seen. As creative people, we often get energy and inspiration from others around us. But what do you do when you don't have colleagues you're working with on a daily basis? Too often, we end up feeling alone in our victories, struggles, and emotions. We feel the same way and we want to do our part to change that.
Being a creative small business owner is really freaking hard. Every day, you put out your heart. It can be hard to find the connecting point between your current reality of the day to day and your big goals and dreams. Maybe you have mindset blocks surrounding money, boundaries, self-care, and what’s truly possible to achieve your life and career. We are all just trying to “keep it together.”
You are not along in your struggles with anxiety. So in our mental health, mindset, and manifestation Glowup challenge, you'll learn the importance of your mindset and mental health, both as a human being and as a business owner, along with how you can manifest the life you're dreaming of. Even from just polling within the Develope team, we've struggled with everything from anxiety, depression, to chronic pain, “mom guilt,” imposter syndrome, wildly unchecked ADHD, and so much more. So we can imagine that if all this is happening in our small group of four, there's certainly more going on in a group as large as our students. We certainly are not professional counselors or therapists. We aren't experts at any of this. But we do know that none of us should have to go through life alone.
We want to open up a safe space for both the tough discussions and huge celebrations that come with being a creative business owner!

WHAT IS A GLOWUP?
Glowups are mini classes that Develope Academy hosts once a month. We figured, instead of teaching with big, grand gestures and catch-all courses for everything, maybe some topics needed a little more nuance. Consider a Glowup to be your first, second, and third date with whatever topic we are covering. We find that these bite-sized education opportunities help our students to learn more efficiently, more quickly, and with more intention. You can expect each day of education to last 1-2 hours and to have fun while you learn!
Meet Charla + Jenn
Honestly. We were just tired of educators not actually teaching people. So...here we are, and we complement each other well. Our combined 25+ years and variety of expertise and experience gives us a unique approach that can affect change for most people in a very impactful way.
Education shouldn't be boring either. We believe that teleprompters and scripts make for a very distant learning experience. So our laid-back but pointed approach to teaching has been said to be "like hanging out with besties with a glass of wine." We are relatable while maintaining the fact that we are successful businesswomen in our industry.
